GIVING TO CALI

My heart breaks for the victims and families who have lost everything in the wildfires of Southern California. Today, Gov. Jerry Brown asked President Trump (still can't believe I'm saying these words...lol) for assistance. The Thomas Fire, which is the largest fire moving through the state, has destroyed over 272,000 acres of land. So far, California has spent $161 million to fight it and the cost is sure to grow.

The California Insurance Commissioner, Dave Jones, estimates that the losses are currently over $1 billion.

"The tragic death of 42 people and over a billion in property losses are numbers—behind these numbers are thousands of people who've been traumatized by unfathomable loss. We must do all we can to ease their pain and help them recover and rebuild." Mr. Jones said in a statement.
